Glu Mobile smartphone game revenues increase to $9.7M in Q3
Gaming publisher Glu Mobile reported third-quarter 2011 total GAAP revenue of $16.9 million, compared to $15.5 million a year ago. Glu posted a GAAP operating loss of $7.3 million, up from $1.2 million in the third quarter of 2010, due in part to the August acquisitions of startups Griptonite Games and Blammo Games. Glu's total GAAP smartphone revenues increased 306 percent year-over-year to $9.7 million, comprising 57 percent of total GAAP revenues, and non-GAAP freemium revenue (e.g., micro-transactions, in-game advertising and offers) surged to $8.1 million compared to $565,000 last year.
