Good Technology acquires Intercasting
Push mobility solutions provider Good Technology announced its acquisition of mobile social networking platform provider Intercasting. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Good, the addition of Intercasting's Anthem platform--which powers mobile social networking services as well as a host of related mobile solutions including email and instant messaging, promising operators and device manufacturers a single connection point to provide integrated communications--will enable the firm to extend its reach beyond the smartphone market into the billion-plus feature phone segment. Operators currently using the Anthem platform include Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile USA and Virgin Mobile USA.
Intercasting was founded in 2004 and previously raised a total of $17.5 million in venture capital from investors including Venrock, Avalon Ventures and Masthead Venture Partners. All 25 Intercasting employees will now join Good Technology, with founder and CEO Shawn Conahan serving as Good senior vice president.
