Google Catalogs features digital editions of print catalogs from merchants including Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma and Saks Fifth Avenue--consumers may zoom in to see products up close, tap tags for more information on an item and view photos and videos, as well as search across multiple catalogs and product types, share finds with friends and create collages of favorite items. Shoppers may purchase items by tapping the Buy on Website button or else locate nearby retailers with the product in stock.
The free Google Catalogs is launching on Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad, with a version for tablets running Google's own Android mobile operating system slated to follow. Google also encourages other merchants to add their catalogs to the application.
