Google debuts orkut Mobile App
Google released its first downloadable orkut mobile application, optimizing the social networking and discussion site for most Java-enabled devices. Google launched orkut in early 2004, and rolled out a dedicated mobile website in mid-2008--the new orkut Mobile App enables users to write and read "scraps" (i.e., communication between users), update their status, search for users and view/accept friend requests, as well as snap photos for automatic uploads to their orkut albums, share photos via SMS with contacts not yet on orkut and view content offline. The beta version of the orkut Mobile App is available for download now at m.google.com/orkut.
