Google expands click-to-call ads across content network
Google announced an expansion of the new click-to-call advertising format the digital services giant first previewed at last month's I/O developer conference, extending click-to-call functionality across mobile applications and mobile content. According to Google, the solution--available to all AdWords partners--enables potential customers to connect with businesses directly from their mobile handsets; advertisements will appear within apps and the mobile web as animated banners or text ads, each containing a call button. Google notes that advertisers must enable phone extensions and run ads on both the Google Content Network and mobile devices with full web browsers. The company added click-to-call options to mobile search results earlier this year.
