Google Mobile App for iPhone adds push notifications

Tools

Google upgraded its flagship mobile application for Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone, adding push notifications from the user's Google account. The revamped Google Mobile App for iPhone now features an icon badge indicating new messages in Gmail, while Google Calendar event reminders appear directly on the device homescreen. "We've also added spiffy features to get you information faster--when looking for flight info, weather, stock quotes or currency conversion you'll see answers before you even hit 'Search,'" writes Google engineering manager David Singleton on the Official Google Mobile Blog. The free Google Mobile App for iPhone version 0.6.0.4416 is available for download via Apple's App Store.
