Google News revamped for smartphones
Google announced the launch of a retooled Google News reader for iPhone, Android and Palm Pre devices,
promising richness and personalization comparable to the desktop experience. According to Google, the revamped mobile homepage boasts more stories, sections and images while maintaining a familiar look and feel--in addition, the update enables more efficient access to favorite sections, search and video clips. Google adds that existing Google News reader users will find their desktop personalizations ported over to the mobile platform.
Google adds it is presently at work overhauling Google News for BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and S60 devices and notes the mobile service is now available in 29 languages and 70 editions.
