Google rolls out Android Training app development program
Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) announced the beta launch of Android Training, an online program devoted to helping developers build more effective applications for the company's Android mobile operating system.
Android Training "classes" demonstrate best practices for solving commonplace development challenges, complete with sample code and insights on implementing new features. At launch, subjects include designing effective navigation, managing audio playback and optimizing battery life. Google plans to expand the Android Training curriculum in coming months, also introducing over-arching courses and sample apps.
Android powers 46.3 percent of all smartphones in the U.S. according to comScore data issued earlier this month. Google recently announced that its Android Market storefront now tops 10 billion app downloads worldwide.
