Google Shopper application debuts on Android
Google announced the introduction of Google Shopper, a new Android application enabling consumers to more efficiently capture product information via their smartphone's camera. According to Google, the app can recognize the cover art of books, CDs, DVDs and videogames, as well as most barcodes--in addition, users can speak the name of the product they're looking to purchase. In response, Google Shopper supplies product recommendations and pricing comparisons, and supplies information on where the item is in stock. The app also saves each user's history, guaranteeing product and price information even when the Android device is out of network range.
To download Google Shopper, users can scan the QR code found on the Official Google Mobile Blog, or search for "Shopper" on Android Market.
