Google Sync adds push Gmail support
Google announced the addition of Gmail support to its Google Sync feature, which enables users to synchronize their Gmail Contacts and Google Calendar with their iPhone, Windows Mobile and S60 devices. Gmail integration (available for the iPhone, iPod touch and Windows Mobile handsets) pushes messages directly to Google Sync users' phones, working with the device's native email application to sidestep additional software. "Having an over-the-air, always-on connection means that your inbox is up to date, no matter where you are or what you're doing," writes Google Mobile software engineer Douglas Gresham on the Official Google Mobile Blog.
