Google's Chrome browser expected on Android

While Google's new Chrome browser is currently optimized for the wired web, the web services giant's co-founder Sergey Brin anticipates the browser will soon migrate the fledgling Android mobile operating system as well. Speaking at Tuesday's Chrome launch event, Brin said Chrome and Android were developed independently of each other, but with both projects now public, their paths will likely converge. "We have not wanted to bind one's hands to the other's," Brin said. "Probably a subsequent version of Android is going to pick up a lot of the Chrome stack." Both Chrome and Android's existing browser employ the WebKit open-source application framework.
