Tools

Mobile media provider GoTV Networks announced an agreement to acquire applications developer and publisher Hands-On Mobile's HOMBRE (Hands-On Mobile Binary Runtime Environment) division, which includes apps like Verizon NFL Draft, Sprint Football Live, NASCAR Sprint Mobile and the newly launched Oprah Mobile. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed; the agreement calls for GoTV to acquire Hands-On's library of HOMBRE applications, client and server technologies and patents, with Hands-On exec Scott Scherer joining GoTV as senior vice president of product development and technology, where he will oversee product management, engineering, user experience and quality assurance. In addition, Hands-On will receive an equity stake in GoTV. Hands-On CFO and interim CEO Addo Burrows said in a statement the firm will now focus on its core competencies in gaming.
