Groupon teams with Deutsche Telekom for mobile deals services

Social commerce giant Groupon announced a strategic partnership with Deutsche Telekom to deliver its local deals services to mobile subscribers in multiple European nations. The deal is Groupon's first distribution agreement with a multi-national service provider. Deutsche Telekom will leverage multiple marketing and sales channels to promote Groupon sales, including deep integration in selected mobile and fixed services. Groupon presently offers applications optimized for smartphone platforms including Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android, Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS, Research In Motion's (NASDAQ:RIMM) BlackBerry and Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phone. The company previously teamed with partners including location-based mobile social network foursquare and m-commerce solutions provider ShopSavvy to further expand its deals platform to smartphone users.
