Handmark named aggregator for Samsung Application Store

Tools

Mobile media solutions provider Handmark announced it will serve as content aggregator for the forthcoming Samsung Application Store, scheduled to launch Sept. 14. According to Handmark, it will provide the largest selection of Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 titles in the virtual storefront, including both original content as well as titles from its network of development partners.

The Samsung Application Store promises smartphone users in the U.K., France and Italy more than 300 native apps at launch--in addition to Handmark, Samsung will initially partner with content providers including Electronic Arts, Gameloft, Handmark, Capcom, Taito and Com2us, with plans to expand its inventory to more than 2,000 apps by the end of 2009. For now, Application Store availability is limited to Omnia and I8910 HD devices--the on-device client is available in English, French and Italian, and will support credit card and operator billing.
