Handmark opens downloadable Windows Mobile app store

Mobile media solutions provider Handmark announced the launch of HandMarket Apps, a new downloadable application storefront for Windows Mobile smartphones. According to Handmark, HandMarket Apps features both free and premium software running the gamut from games to themes to ringtones, promising a simple, intuitive user interface and one-click access from the device homescreen--a navigation bar enables users to browse app inventory by featured, top and new products, along with integrated search functionality to find specific applications. HandMarket Apps also features detailed user reviews complete with a star-rating system, carrier billing and credit card payment, instant notifications when apps are updated and a personal locker that stores all downloads. HandMarket Apps is available now to Windows Mobile users in the U.S., although Handmark notes the store will soon expand internationally.
