Handmark teams with Reuters for BlackBerry news app
Mobile games, applications and storefronts developer Handmark announced an agreement with information media giant Thomson Reuters to release a new mobile application for Research In Motion's BlackBerry smartphone platform. According to Handmark, the app promises one-click access to business news, photography, market data and financial information, all optimized for easy reading on BlackBerry devices--users may select regions (the U.S., Canada, U.K. or India) for localized Thomson Reuters content, with up-to-the-minute market data including indices, commodities and currencies according to the global area in focus. A personalized stocks tab enables users to keep track of their portfolio, with a My Feeds tab allowing for additional customization. The BlackBerry app is also designed to support offline use in the absence of service or an Internet connection. The application is available now via the Handmark website, and will soon make its debut on the BlackBerry App World storefront.
