Harmony Media scores 2.2 million GBP in financing
Digital content distribution firm Harmony Media Group, the parent company of Filmnight Digital and Saffron Digital, announced the completion of a £2.2 million financing round led by equity investment company Beringea Capital along with additional investment from existing investors NewSmith Capital and Duet Asset Management. Harmony said the funding is earmarked to further develop the digital propositions of both Filmnight (which provides digital film publishing solutions to clients including Vodafone, T-Mobile and EMAP) and Saffron Digital (which developed a converged content delivery platform enabling content owners, brand owners and mobile operators like Disney Mobile, O2 and Vodafone to deliver consumers rich mobile and web experiences). In addition, Harmony announced the appointment of former advertising executive Eric McClean as its new Chairman; Shashi Fernando was appointed CEO, and David McDonald was named managing director for both Filmnight Digital and Saffron Digital.
