Hearst delivers new mobile sites

Tools

Hearst Magazines Digital Media announced the launch of mobile sites for Harper's Bazaar and Marie Claire, bringing the total number of mobile sites within the publisher's portfolio to nine. The new sites promise tips, advice and solutions targeted to professional women, including downloadable wallpapers, "talk-to-us" features and search functionality. Harper's Bazaar Mobile offers fashion news, beauty tips and vintage covers from the early 1900s; Marie Claire Mobile features fashion tips, career advice, and how-to's.

Hearst is launching both on and off-deck sites and has deals in place with carriers including AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. "Through research we found that 25 percent of our readers now have mobile web-enabled cell phones but have not yet found what they are looking for," said Hearst Magazines Digital Media VP and GM Chuck Cordray in a prepared statement. "Much like the Internet was ten years ago, today is a brand new world for all of us on the mobile front, and it's one with clear potential, if the content and delivery are right."
