Hipcricket teams with Scanbuy for barcode campaigns
Mobile marketing solutions providers Hipcricket and Scanbuy will partner to offer brands and media companies barcode-enabled campaigns promising consumers expanded product information, photos and related rich media content. Scanbuy's ScanLife a multi-barcode reader application and interoperable Code Management Platform will integrate with Hipcricket's HIP 6.0 platform to offer QR code services alongside other mobile marketing channels including SMS, mobile websites, advertising networks and branded apps--the firms note that more than 90 percent of mobile devices now incorporate cameras, effectively transforming handsets into personal barcode scanners.
In conjunction with the Scanbuy alliance, Hipcricket announced it has surpassed 75,000 mobile campaigns for brands, agencies and media properties. Past and present partners include Arby's, Macy's, Nestle, KFC, HBO, Staples, Hershey's, Alaska Airlines and Clear Channel.
