HotelTonight books $9M in Series B round
Hotel deals app maker HotelTonight has closed a Series B financing round totaling $9 million, bringing the startup's funding to date to $13.25 million. Battery Ventures led the new round, with existing investors Accel Partners and First Round Capital also participating.

Launched in January 2011, the made-for-mobile HotelTonight app offers same-day exclusive deals on hotels in 28 U.S. cities, a number slated to increase to 35 by year's end.
Travelers can access their iOS or Android device to exploit discounts of up to 70 percent, completing bookings in less than 10 seconds.
The HotelTonight partner network now spans more than 600 hotels, all vetted by company staffers--in addition, app downloads now surpass 1 million.
HotelTonight will leverage the funding to expand to additional mobile platforms and drive customer acquisition. The firm also plans to extend its platform into new global markets.
