HP said it will release documentation for adding in-app transactions in the near future, and will begin accepting apps integrating the new functionality soon after.
HP released its webOS 3.0 software development kit to members of its Early Access program in April. The SDK includes the new Enyo framework, which HP will leverage across new future webOS form factors, as well as core platform features like Just Type, Synergy and Exhibition, new UI components and reference tools and guidance on TouchPad app structuring, design and navigation.
HP unveiled the TouchPad in February. The device touts a 9.7-inch screen, dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) Snapdragon processor, a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video chatting, internal stereo speakers and Beats Audio technology, and 16 GB and 32 GB memory storage options. A Wi-Fi-only version of the TouchPad will inaugurate the product line, with 3G and 4G versions to follow.
