InfoSpace announces new exec structure

Following the recent resignation of mobile and online media president Stephen J. Davis, content discovery tool developer InfoSpace formally announced its new leadership structure, naming executive VP Steve Elfman to supervise the company's mobile business unit and appointing fellow executive VP Brian MacManus to oversee its online business arm. Both report to chairman and CEO Jim Voelker.

In late September 2006, InfoSpace lost its ringtone licensing relationship with Cingular, followed by news it planned to de-emphasize its focus on consumer mobile content in favor of online and mobile infrastructure. "This new leadership structure aligns with how we now operate, and allows us to focus Steve and Brian's expertise and energy on driving our growth strategy moving forward," Voelker said in a prepared statement.
