Interscope Geffen A&M launches artist apps for iPhone
Universal Music Group's Interscope Geffen A&M division announced an agreement with digital media platform Kyte to launch iPhone and iPod touch applications spotlighting IGA artists the All American Rejects, Keri Hilson, Lady Gaga, the Pussycat Dolls and Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em. Available now via the Apple App Store, the free IGA applications feature artist-produced video content, custom branding, mobile advertising, m-commerce links for purchasing artist content and merchandise, an RSS reader for artist news alerts and interactive user engagement features including fan chats, content sharing and concert comments and ratings.
According to Kyte, Interscope Geffen A&M is the first partner to use its new Kyte turnkey solution, which enables media and entertainment firms to more efficiently deliver native iPhone and iPod touch applications based on their existing online content. Kyte's end-to-end platform supports production, distribution and monetization of digital content, powering media efforts to create live and on-demand online and mobile video, broadcast content to multiple online and mobile destinations simultaneously, interact with audiences via multimedia chat and branded user-generated content, and report and measure distribution and user engagement.
