iPhone to Vodafone...and O2?
Speculation on Apple's U.K. iPhone distribution plans again is focusing on British operators Vodafone and O2 after a mobile phone retail website leaked details touting the device's pending overseas availability. According to Macworld, retailer mobile.co.uk published listings for "The Apple iPhone on O2" and the "Apple iPhone on Vodafone," with the phone priced at £99.99 (roughly $199) through O2, significantly less than the $499 and $599 price tag attached to the device via Apple's U.S. operator partner AT&T. A warning label on the mobile.co.uk website reads: "Please note that pricing and information for the Apple iPhone is based on the best information available to us at this moment in time. Specifications and prices are subject to change." Apple declined comment.
