Jamster joins UK ad body ISBA
Jamster, the mobile content company that created "the most irritating ad of 2005" is now a member of the U.K. advertising trade group the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA). According to its Web site, ISBA includes 380 U.K. advertisers with a combined spending power of £10 billion per year. The group works to lobby the government, agencies and the media to champion advertising and defend its members' rights to "advertise responsibly." The last part is the kicker since regulatory bodies pulled Jamster's "Crazy Frog" ads last year for not making it clear to viewers that buying the ringtone meant signing up for a fee-based subscription for future ringtones. The membership will help the company reach their "audiences in a responsible and informative manner."
