Juice Wireless, Kyocera to market JuiceCaster
Social networking company Juice Wireless has teamed up with handset maker Kyocera Wireless to jointly market JuiceCaster 2.1 to CDMA-based carriers and MVNO operators worldwide. The deal also marks the JV's plan to embed JuiceCaster in future models of Kyocera handsets. JuiceCaster enables users to create new audio/video content with their mobile phone or through their PC, while making it easy to upload and view content from either platform.
I've been testing JuiceCaster this past month and the app has a lot of potential since it's far more integrated into the mobile platform than competing community sites like MySpace and Facebook. Once the incumbents beef up their wireless offerings, however, Juice better have more than a slight head start. Marketing efforts and deals with OEMs like this one are sure to go a long way. Also, I hear Juice is planning on licensing their audio/video conversion technology for the mobile platform.
