"This new data reveals some interesting patterns for advertisers to consider when targeting consumers using Android devices vs. iOS devices," said Jumptap's CMO Paran Johar.
The data, part of Jumptap's monthly Mobile STAT (Simple Targeting & Audience Trends) report, includes statistics from the first half of 2011 from the user base of the company's ad network.

Earlier today, research firm comScore revealed that Android dominates 40 percent of the U.S. smartphone market.
The Jumptap report also found that iOS users are far more likely to click-through on ads, at .78 percent. The lowest click-through rate belonged to BlackBerry users with .36 percent, which was .16 percent below the average rate across platforms.
The report also broke down Android users' click-through rates by handset maker. Sony Ericsson leads the pack with a rate of .54 percent, followed by LG (.40 percent), Samsung (.39 percent), Motorola Mobility (NYSE:MMI) (.32 percent) and HTC (.21 percent). The report also detailed the Android user click-through rates by carrier, with advertising performance relatively uniform among the various carriers.
