Jumptap: Traffic to mobile automotive sites grows 463% year-over-year

Mobile traffic to automotive-themed websites increased a whopping 463 percent year-over-year according to new research released by targeted mobile advertising network Jumptap. Mobile traffic to vehicle information and automaker sites is now growing at an annual pace 15 times greater than conventional desktop access to auto sites, Jumptap adds. Research, reviews and pricing site Edmonds.com is the most accessed automotive website among mobile users, generating 17.1 percent of traffic.

Sixty-nine percent of mobile visitors to automotive websites are smartphone owners. In addition, males make up 66 percent of consumers visiting auto sites on their mobile device--men make up 48 percent of the mobile subscriber segment as a whole.
