Konami developing original made-for-mobile games

Electronic media publisher Konami Digital Entertainment announcing the development of original mobile content based on some of its most popular video-game brands. Next month, Konami will introduce Castlevania: Order of Shadows, a mobile-exclusive title featuring never-before-seen gameplay, new storylines and original music--the title will launch Sept. 18 via operators including AT&T, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile.

"Mobile technology has exploded, providing powerful new tools to enhance today's mobile gaming experiences," said Joe Morris, Konami Mobile VP. "Konami's esteemed game developers will be creating original titles based on the company's top franchises including Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid Mobile, Contra and others."

In addition, Konami Mobile will introduce "Developer's Corner," a new website feature offering commentary from staff game developers and sneak peeks at new game titles. The first "Developer's Corner" installment will include a blog written by Castlevania: Order of Shadows lead game designer Tyrone Rodriguez discussing the title's creation as well Konami's goals for improving the mobile gamer experience. The website will also offer mobile game emulators as well as art and video.
