Konami teams with TokyoPop

Top U.S. manga company TokyoPop is getting together with gaming publisher Konami Digital Entertainment to launch mobile game titles based on hit manga series. Manga is the Japanese word for comics and refers to Japanese comics when used in English. TokyoPop CEO Stu Levy said: ""We are very excited to be partnering with Konami to move TokyoPop's creative juice into the white-hot area of mobile gaming. Our two brands both stand for an East-meets-West aesthetic that really speaks out to fans worldwide." The first game to come out of the partnership is called "East Coast Rising": Users defend New York from hostile pirates and evil monsters that come from, that's right, New Jersey. Only the strong.
