Laddie mags ogle mobile for future revs

Tools

Traditional print media outlets like newspapers and magazines can't get a mobile portal up and running fast enough these days. The publisher of Maxim Magazine, Dennis Publishing, did so in 2002 and apparently, the venture has been lucrative enough to expand the initiative to its other brands, Blender and Stuff. Airborne Entertainment, which built the Maxim Mobile application, will do the same for the new brands.

In the U.S., Dennis Publishing recorded more than 5.8 million sales of Maxim mobile content last year, with more than one million wallpapers alone coming via the Sprint network. New content pending includes a new twist on the fantasy sports leagues, called Maxim Score Wars.

Additionally, Maxim and Stuff readers can now use the PayPal Text-to-Buy service to purchase subscriptions, and to buy products advertised in the magazine via their mobile phones in the UK.
