LG teams up with Marvel for 'Iron Man 2' campaign

LG Electronics announced an agreement with Marvel Studios to launch a multi-platform marketing campaign touting the May 7 release of the much-anticipated Iron Man 2. According to LG, the campaign will focus on how innovation can create superheroes, with an emphasis on its first Android-powered smartphone, the LG Ally--a movie-themed microsite, www.lgim2.com, will feature an Iron Man 2-themed game including built-in augmented reality experiences as well as a text-to-win sweepstakes. The campaign also spotlights LG handset functions like web access, media player portability, turn-by-turn navigation, and photo and video sharing.

All consumers who purchase the LG Ally, LG Chocolate Touch or LG enV Touch will additionally receive a special-edition Iron Man 2 comic created by Marvel. The issue will feature a series of augmented reality experiences alongside short codes giving consumers access to exclusive mobile content.
