Lil Wayne tops U.S. ringtone countdown

Tools

With 2008 closing in on its halfway mark, Nielsen's RingScan ringtone data tracking and coverage service reports that rapper Lil Wayne's "Lollipop" reigns as the year's best-selling mastertone to date. Flo Rida's "Low" comes in second, followed in descending sales order by Usher's "Love in This Club," Chris Brown's "With You," Ray J's "Sexy Can I" and Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love." (The worst-selling ringtone of 2008? You guessed it: Frank Stallone's "Far from Over.") In addition, Nielsen announced the addition of AT&T's weekly ringtone sales data, meaning RingScan data now includes ringtone revenue reports from every major U.S. mobile carrier.
