LinkedIn app connects to BlackBerry users

Professional social network LinkedIn announced the introduction of a mobile application optimized for BlackBerry smartphones. Following on the heels of similar applications for Apple's iPhone and Palm's Pre, the LinkedIn App for BlackBerry promises native integration with the device's existing email, calendar and contacts applications--on-the-go users can search LinkedIn profiles, manage messages, make new connections, send invitations to expand their networks and receive contact recommendations. The free LinkedIn app is available globally in English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese across BlackBerry smartphones including the Tour, Curve and Bold series--the app runs on BlackBerry OS 4.3, with full integration requiring OS 4.6 or later.
