LinkedIn, Snaptu team for feature phone app

Tools

Mobile application platform provider Snaptu unveiled a new solution giving feature phone users on-the-go access to professional networking service LinkedIn. Optimized for over 2,500 different device models, the Snaptu app enables LinkedIn users to view their update stream, gather "meeting intelligence" about customers and partners, and extend and accept network invitations. Users can also access connections to view how their networks have grown, identify mutual contacts and explore profile changes.

Worldwide LinkedIn membership totals more than 90 million professionals as of January 2011. The network now includes executives from all current Fortune 500 companies, and 69 of the Fortune 100 firms have leveraged its hiring services. In addition, more than a million companies have created LinkedIn Company Pages.

Earlier this year, Snaptu teamed with Facebook to introduce a new social networking app for feature phone users. Facebook for Feature Phones includes an easier-to-navigate homescreen, contact synchronization and accelerated scrolling of photos and friend updates.
