LiveCast launches Lightning mobile video solution
Mobile streaming video solutions provider LiveCast announced the launch of Lightning, a new product enabling the television news industry to broadcast real-time live video from mobile phones with no transmission delay from the field to the studio. According to LiveWire, Lightning allows field reporters to capture breaking news and conduct on-air interviews via mobile device, instantly transmitting content to the television studio as well as websites and social media services--Lightning promises low latency (one second on average) and enables remote reporters to transmit video and audio over any IP connection. LiveCast adds that organizations including NBC Universal are already relying on its live video solutions.
