LiveWire Mobile's Q1 revenues slip to $3 million

Tools

Ringback, full-track music downloads and personalization services provider LiveWire Mobile announced total first quarter revenues of $3 million, down from $4.4 million the previous quarter and off from $3.8 million a year ago. LiveWire cited expected decreases in the capex portion of its business for the decrease, as well as an expected dropoff in handset royalties, which it said will become an immaterial component of total revenues going forward. Excluding all handset royalties and one capex deployment of approximately $600,000, total revenues increased 15 percent during Q1 to approximately $2.9 million, up from $2.6 million a year ago.

LiveWire adds it has booked new managed service agreements with two North American operators, expected to launch sometime during the third quarter of this year. The deals center on its DRM-free full-track mobile music service, giving consumers access to content from the SonyBMG, Universal and EMI catalogs.
