Lookout introduces free mobile security app for Apple's iOS

Lookout Mobile Security is unveiling Lookout for iPhone, a free application that promises to safeguard iOS users' privacy and security, back up their contacts and data and help identify lost or stolen devices.

Lookout's mobile security app is now available for the iPhone.

Available for download from Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) App Store, Lookout for iPhone includes a System Advisor that notifies users of settings or out-of-date software that could put their phone at risk of virtual attack--it also sends alerts when an iPhone is jailbroken and when users connect to an unsecured Wi-Fi network, guaranteeing they don't expose personal data, passwords or account information. Users  also may determine which apps can access location data. Lookout for iPhone additionally helps users pinpoint their missing smartphone on a map or by generating a loud alarm and backs up contact information over-the-air.

According to a recent Lookout survey, 93 percent of iPhone users express concerns about the security of the data stored on their device. Four out of every 10 iPhone users question the security of public Wi-Fi, and more than a third of users fail to sync their devices on a regular basis.
