Macrovision acquires Muze for $16.5 million

Digital home entertainment firm Macrovision Solutions announced it will acquire entertainment information products and discovery services provider Muze for $16.5 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close at the end of April. Muze supplies entertainment metadata solutions and digital sample services to in-store and online retailers, consumer electronics manufacturers and mobile services providers. Macrovision notes the addition of the Muze assets will complement its existing data solutions, in particular offering more metadata for European content.
