Meez teams with Vringo for video ringtone avatars

Consumer avatar service provider Meez announced an agreement with Vringo to integrate 3D avatars into Vringo's video ringtone service. Mobile subscribers can add Meez avatars for free--when a call is placed, the animated Meez appears on the recipient's phone screen as a video ringtone to identify the caller. Each time a user updates an avatar on Meez.com, the Vringo will automatically be updated as well. Users can also personalize handsets by selecting Meez avatars as idle-screen wallpapers. According to Meez, more than 2.8 million people have created unique avatars from more than 4,500 digital assets, including virtual clothing, accessories, hairstyles, tattoos, physical attributes and 3D animations.
