Melodeo goes hi-fi

Tools

Digital content provider Melodeo announced Mobilcast Hi-fi, a low-bandwidth, high-fidelity version of its Mobilcast mobile entertainment service, as well as a2z, a suite of exclusive music channels spanning from hip-hop to country. According to Mobilcast, its Hi-Fi upgrade enables operators to offer improved audio quality over existing networks using standard codecs, automatically adapting to different handset models and network speeds while requiring minimal bandwidth use. "Wireless customers clearly want instant access to a variety of great music and entertainment programs on the go," Melodeo's senior director of music content Dave Dederer said in a prepared statement. "By adding hi-fi to Mobilcast, we have made the experience even better by greatly improving the audio quality and adding more music to the mix."
