Men's Health, SnapTell team for interactive ads
Men's lifestyle magazine Men's Health announced a partnership with image recognition-based mobile marketing solutions provider SnapTell to create a fully interactive advertising magazine. The July/August issue of Men's Health, which hits newsstands on June 24, will feature so-called "live" ads enabling readers to receive real-time promotional information from advertisers by snapping photos of any ad in the issue--SnapTell's Snap.Send.Get mobile marketing technology will reply with a promotional bounce-back sent to their phone, offering sales incentives including product samples and discounts, sweepstakes information and links to websites, photos and videos. Advertisers already signed on for the initiative include Axe, Samsung, Westin and PowerAde. "The partnership provides a benefit to both consumers and marketers--it's a unique opportunity for our advertisers to have an immediate, direct conversation with our readers and for consumers to realize a more interactive experience with our brand," said Men's Health VP/publisher Jack Essig in a prepared statement. "We want to show agility in the digital space and true accountability for our clients."
