Microsoft debuts Facebook app for Windows Mobile

Tools

Microsoft introduced a new Facebook application for Windows Mobile 6 phones, which the software giant says is the first mobile app enabling users to upload video content from their handsets directly to their Facebook pages. In addition, WinMo 6 users can send messages to any of the contacts in their Friends list, upload and share photos, create wall posts and update their current status.

Although Microsoft acquired a 1.6 percent, $240 million stake in Facebook in October 2007, the new application is the first-ever official Facebook app developed for Windows Mobile devices. Microsoft adds it will update the Facebook application with the forthcoming launch of the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.
