Microsoft extends OneNote to iPhone
Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) introduced OneNote Mobile for iPhone, a version of its digital notebook solution optimized for rival Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) smartphone. Available free for a limited time from the App Store, OneNote Mobile for iPhone is "a digital file cabinet for all the random bits of information that are too hard to keep track of in your head," writes Microsoft Office corporate vice president Takeshi Numoto on the unit's blog--the productivity app enables users to document and review notes and lists, with content automatically backed up and synced with free Windows Live SkyDrive online storage for remote access anywhere. In addition to notes, ideas, web links and photos, OneNote can also capture handwriting, audio recording and video clips, Numoto states.
OneNote is currently installed across 78 million PCs in the U.S.--more than a third of all PCs nationwide--according to digital research firm comScore.
