Microsoft teams with Qualcomm for mobile OS

Microsoft is trying to wedge itself into the smartphone market again, this time through a deal with Qualcomm to get its OS inserted onto CDMA chipsets. The deal should make handsets smaller and cut development time, according to the companies. The hook for mobile content providers: Qualcomm's plan to launch a cable television-like model of broadcasting for its mobile TV network will require an OS like Microsoft's on its handsets.
