Microsoft, Univision team on digital download service

Spanish-language media giant Univision Communications announced an agreement with Microsoft to launch an exclusive music download service powered by the software goliath's Zune music and entertainment effort. The new service, branded Baja Zune Musica en Univision.com ("Download Zune Music on Univision.com"), promises artist profiles, charts and more than 4 million songs delivered via the Zune Marketplace virtual storefront--per terms of the agreement, Microsoft will serve as Univision.com's exclusive integrated online music download and subscription provider in the U.S., including Puerto Rico. According to a Forrester Research study, Univision.com is the most-visited Spanish-language website among U.S. Hispanics, delivering an average of more than 15 million monthly unique browsers and more than 34 million monthly visits in addition to generating 11 million monthly video streams.
