mig33 scores $13.5 million in Series B

Mobile social networking service provider mig33 announced the completion of a $13.5 million Series B round led by DCM, with participation from previous investors Accel, Redpoint and TVP. According to mig33, the funding is earmarked to expand the firm's service across the U.S. and into new international markets. mig33 delivers a downloadable mobile social networking application that enables users to chat, e-mail and IM as well as share photos and make VoIP calls across mobile operators--the firm reports a user base totaling more than 9 million across 200 countries, with more than 45 million messages sent each day and more than a million pictures shared per month.
