Millennial Media scoops up analytics firm TapMetrics
Mobile advertising firm Millennial Media announced an agreement to acquire mobile analytics firm TapMetrics, promising developers deeper insight into their application sales and revenues. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Millennial Media, TapMetrics brings with it a software suite providing detailed, real-time data on application usage and behavior as well as an intuitive, user-friendly dashboard--developers can now more effectively track feature and version adoption, device types, crash reporting, user reviews and competitive ratings.
Millennial Media closed a $16 million Series C financing round in November--at the time, the company said it will target investments to accelerate its growth, and says now it will continue to evaluate additional acquisitions. Millennial Media notes that its brand business increased 756 percent in 2009, with its performance business growing 171 percent. iPhone OS impressions jumped 357 percent in 2009, BlackBerry OS impressions grew 90 percent and non-U.S. impressions increased 175 percent year-over-year.
