MMA and dotMobi sign alliance

Not-for-profit associations dotMobi Advisory Group and the Mobile Marketing Association announced a global Industry Alliance Memorandum of Agreement, each pledging its support for the other organization's initiatives, including mobile advertising, mobile search and mobile commerce. The MMA and dotMobi also agreed to collaborate on the development of a common set of guidelines, best practices and commercialization efforts to accelerate mobile web growth via reciprocal programs for cross-committee participation, ongoing event support and global networking. The agreement follows dotMobi's endorsement of the recent MMA Mobile Advertising Guidelines.

"Industry cooperation and collaboration are key drivers for the successful future of the mobile Internet economy," said dotMobi Advisory Group chair and executive director Michael J. O'Farrell in a prepared statement. "The alliance between the dotMobi Advisory Group and the Mobile Marketing Association provides dotMobi and our members with the global insights and perspectives to recommend industry-accepted and adopted best practices for dotMobi style guides as well as policy compliance programs to support global consumer-based .mobi domain trustmark efforts."
