Mobile ad network Jumptap names George Bell CEO
Mobile advertising solutions provider Jumptap appointed George Bell CEO, with outgoing chief executive Dan Olschwang remaining on the company's board. With his new role, Bell will take an indefinite leave of absence from his duties as managing director with venture capital firm General Catalyst, one of Jumptap's lead investors. Bell's résumé includes stints as CEO of college savings platform Upromise and web portal Excite@Home--he also founded cable's Outlook Life Network (now Versus) and earned four Emmy Awards for his efforts writing and producing documentaries.
Jumptap's premium mobile advertising network reports roughly 63 million unique user visits each month in the U.S. alone. The company offers advertisers both fixed CPM and bidded CPC campaigns. In June 2010, Jumptap announced the introduction of new video formats, bolstering a suite of offerings including search, display, rich media and in-app advertising.
